I have worked in the social care sector for 28 years, supporting adults and children with learning disabilities, autism, mental health, and associated needs. I am a qualified senior leader with a master’s in business administration (FCMI CMgr) and have worked in various roles since starting as a support worker at 16 to more senior leadership roles within quality, training, and operational functions.  I am passionate about the people we support, and I bring a fresh strategic vision to drive the organisation forward to support more people with complex needs.

To relax and challenge myself outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, hiking, mountaineering, open water swimming, paddle boarding, yoga, and meditation.

I have worked within adult social care since 2001, focusing primarily on supporting adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. My career has involved hands-on care support and management, but my real passion has been communication. I am a qualified Signalong tutor with 21 years of teaching experience. I have a diploma in Positive Behaviour Support and love working with service users and staff to implement positive strategies that will improve the quality of life of the people we support at Godfrey Care.

Learning Disabilities

We are members of the Learning Disability Alliance. The LDA defend the rights of people with learning disabilities and their families.

Challenging Behaviour

Many individuals accessing the services of Godfrey Care have presented behaviour that may be considered challenging. Training delivered through our partnership with NAPPI UK ensures that staff are equipped with a range of strategies to support such situations.

Autism

We appreciate that each person on the Autism Spectrum has different needs and the training delivered through our partnership with NAPPI UK ensures staff are aware of the difficulties faced by individuals on the Autism Spectrum and more importantly how to effectively support these individuals in a positive and person centred way.

Epilepsy

Godfrey Care have ensured that staff are trained to effectively support individuals who live with Epilepsy. Training delivered by NAPPI UK ensures that staff are given the underpinning knowledge required to recognise different seizure types, identify triggers to seizures and to know how to support a person before, during and after a seizure.
