About Us
Godfrey Care provides residential care and supported living for adults who have a learning disability, complex needs and associated challenging behaviour.
Our aim is to provide high quality care in a home from home environment, offering each individual a personalised service to maximise their independence, opportunities and quality of life.
Our specialist care team of fully trained staff works with each individual using a person-centred planning approach. As our specialist care homes only have a small number of beds, individuals are able to enjoy comfortable, high quality environments that are typical of any family home.
Our aim is for all those under our care to experience a happy, fulfilled life and to develop the highest level of independence. The needs of each individual are our priority, and we offer real opportunities to acquire new skills and build upon existing abilities.
Our specialist teams support each individual to progress and develop life skills to work towards moving towards a more independent life. We see our services as a stepping stone to the future.
We provide care for people with:
- Learning Disabilities
- Autistic spectrum disorder and Asperger's
- Epilepsy
- Challenging Behaviour and/or Complex needs.
Our ethos is to empower everyone to have the confidence to take important steps forward in their daily lives. We believe that it is paramount that an individual's needs, wishes, choices, beliefs are always understood and respected. We also recognise each individuals' goals, aspirations, hopes and dreams and help to support them as they work towards achieving them.
A fundamental part of the care planning we undertake ensures that each person in our care has a detailed activities-based programme catered to their individual needs within their home and their community.
We believe a happy, engaging and proactive approach will help individuals to develop the independent living skills that will enable them to boost their self-esteem, confidence and quality of life; whilst also helping them to progress and hopefully move on to more independent living.
Autism
We appreciate that each person on the Autism Spectrum has different needs and the training delivered through our partnership with NAPPI UK ensures staff are aware of the difficulties faced by individuals on the Autism Spectrum and more importantly how to effectively support these individuals in a positive and person centred way.
Epilepsy
Godfrey Care have ensured that staff are trained to effectively support individuals who live with Epilepsy. Training delivered by NAPPI UK ensures that staff are given the underpinning knowledge required to recognise different seizure types, identify triggers to seizures and to know how to support a person before, during and after a seizure.
